June 9 – His thoughts

“For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.” Jeremiah 29v11 (Amplified Bible)

And the thought just came to mind that when man sends you on a mission, you can never be certain of their thoughts and desires for you, whether they be good or bad (knowing that the heart of man is desperately wicked). But we know that with the Almighty God, when He sends us forth, even to the battlefield, His thoughts are good, His plans are good, and everything is in place for the final victory. Hallelujah.

Have a great day.

Verses for thought.
“May blessing (praise, laudation, and eulogy) be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) Who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual (given by the Holy Spirit) blessing in the heavenly realm!” Ephesians 1v3 (Amplified Bible)

“For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestinated (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” Ephesians 2v10 (Amplified Bible)

June 8 – And what do we do...

We call on the name of Jesus.

“Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 124v8

Shakespeare wrote that what is in a name, that which we call a rose, by any other name will smell just as sweet.

But we sing, that Jesus is the sweetest name I know, He’s always just the same, O praise His holy name, that is the reason why I love Him so, Jesus is the sweetest name I know.

And we know that:
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4v12

When you are in trouble, who do you call on? Psalm 124v8 proclaims that our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth. Do you know the Lord’s name. Call on Him. His ears are not too heavy that He cannot hear you.

A song I really like, I think it’s by Cece Winans, but I’m not too certain, speaks of when you don’t know what else to say, just say the name – Jesus. Sometimes we think we have really lost it, and are back to scratch, especially when you think you have been walking on a spiritual high. Remember the Christian walk involves God molding us day by day and we don’t overnight become perfect. But what can we do, we call on Jesus and He is faithful to help especially through the Third Person in the Trinity who is right here with us. But sometimes, we just want things to change overnight. Press on, and forget what is behind – and remember, your help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

Have a great day.

Verse for thought:
“But by the grace of God I am what I am: and His grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” 1 Corinthians 15v10

June 7 – The power of His love

“I hear someone was in luv wit u, was beaten n killed becoz of u, I neva believed till I saw it on calvary. What a great love Christ has 4 you. HAPPY EASTER,” were the words a friend of mine sent to me on Easter day.

Max Lucado also wrote in his book, a Love Worth Giving (which I highly recommend):

“God loves you. Personally. Powerfully. Passionately. Others have promised and failed. But God has promised and succeeded. He loves you with an unfailing love. And His love – if you will let it – can fill you and leave you with a love worth giving” (Page 2).

Note the “if you will let it.” Sometimes we do not let God love us, as we ought to. He says:

“He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” Romans 8v32

Even as believers, do we accept God’s love? And how do we show it? Is it reciprocated? Hmmm...

Have a very wonderful day.

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?” Romans 8v35

“And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.” Ephesians 3v19

June 6 – A prayer

“Hold up my goings in Thy paths, that My footsteps slip not.” Psalm 17v5

June 5 – Examination Day

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2v15

There are very many reasons why a student does not study. Some of the popular ones include too many things competing for their time, just finished studying for something else, trouble at home or with life itself that occupies their time and keeps their minds wandering, the room and the weather are not conducive – perhaps too hot or too cold ... and many other reasons.

Yet, in all of this, God still asks us to study – and He will never ask us to do something that is impossible. To love, to give, to rejoice, to be joyful, to forgive, to pray, HE asks us to do, ... and now to study. Study, not for anyone to see you but for you – so you will not be ashamed and so that you will be approved in the eyes of God. And the best thing is – the Holy Spirit is here to help you and to teach you, but you have to take study time out!!!

Have a great day.

June 4 – Why not rejoice?

June 4 – Why not rejoice?

The other day, on Sunday to be more specific, the Pastor made two statements that have stayed with me –
i) Happiness is a choice
ii) Whenever we are sad, disappointed, sorrowful, the devil throws a party.
So, what are you going to be – joyful or downcast? Why are you downcast, when the Prince of peace is your husband? Why are you worried, when the Maker of heaven and earth is your father? Why are you losing your joy, when I AM THAT I AM has the final say in all matters – and He is your father.

June 3 – Our Source

“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea: and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith.” Mark 11v23

Notice how specific this mountain is – it is as if to say, this particular mountain, not a vague stream of things that are out there. Jesus has been given a name that is above every other name, what is this mountain that is standing in your way? You have been given permission to speak to it.

But be careful, remember the seven sons of Sceva of whom the evil spirit spoke,

“And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?” Acts 19v15
Basically posing the question, on whose authority do you stand to speak to me?

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in Me, and I in Him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing.” John 15v5

Take heed to remain in the source.

Have a blessed day.

June 2 – My words, Your words, our life and our death

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well. Had the opportunity to turn the other cheek today when I went to get my hair done – not sure how good I did with it but just an encouragement to keep your eyes open to love when you feel like doing otherwise. Afterwards, you will feel much better than if you had tried to have your way.

“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith.” Mark 11v23

We can hardly ever go wrong with saying halleluyah, or it is well, or Praise God, but we can go wrong with many other things that we say. The Bible says that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. Now, whosoever is qualified for what Jesus is saying in this verse, but we see with the words “shall say,” that what whosoever saith is muy importante – very important. What are you saying this day. The Shunammite woman, whose son had died and was asked by Elisha’s servant, is all well, she said – IT IS WELL. What are you saying?

Have a blessed day.

June 1- How the tortoise broke his shell

“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith.” Mark 11v23

From the first part of this verse, we see the Bible, does not discriminate. It says whosoever, that is whosoever qualifies for whatever Jesus was to say. I remember the story of the tortoise who wanted to follow the birds for a feast that they had been invited to in the sky – but the tortoise had no wings and no way to get to the sky – and so, all the birds contributed feathers to make a wing for the tortoise. Now, before they went, the tortoise said his name was “everybody.”

When they got to the sky, tortoise included, and the food was ready, the host/hostess called out, everybody come and eat. The tortoise did not allow any other person to eat, claiming he was the “everybody” that was called – and the birds could not refute it, for his name indeed was everybody. Of course, they all took their feathers back, and in the tortoises’ attempt to get back to earth, he broke his shell and that is how the tortoise broke his shell (hehehehehehe) – big laugh.

Anyway, the long and short of it, is that for what Mark 11v23 promises, whosoever is eligible. Are you a whosoever?

Have a blessed day.

Verses for thought/praise
“He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

And being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able also to perform.” Romans 4v20-21

May 31 – On faith

“And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.” Mark 11v22

That simple – 4 words – have faith in God. Jesus spoke this to His disciples after they were astounded that the fig tree, which Jesus had cursed the day before, had withered up. Have you ever been astounded about something God did – have faith in God. Believe that HE that has promised, is more than able to do what He has said to do – have faith in God. Remember Hebrews 11v6, which we oft quote:

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11v6

Have a blessed day.
