March 3 – To what end?

Day before yesterday, I reminded a friend of the words of this verse:

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life].” Proverbs 18v21 (Amplified Bible),

And of late, I have had to reconsider it myself. Thus the question: to what end? To what end do we speak? Are they words of grace, words of encouragement, words of love, or … do they make others cringe and get hurt. Remember:

“For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” Matthew 12v37 (King James Version)

Have a great day.

Verse for thought:
“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good for the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.” Ephesians 4v29

Verse for praise:
“I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Psalm 34v1
