May 30 – From Mark 2

“And as He passed by, He saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, Follow Me. And he arose and followed Him.” Mark 2v14

There are many times we are called by the Lord to do something, what is our response? Now we may have once refused, like the first son in the parable of the two sons, or we might have accepted, like the elder son. Now, the first son, refused but then accepted, and the second son accepted, but did not do it. The question was then posed by Jesus:

“Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto Him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.” Matthew 21v31-32

The first son repented and went about the work of his father that sent him, the second son did not do the work, even after he had said he would. Any work lingering – get to it. Remember, God is no respecter of persons. However, He will give you the grace to do it.

Have a wonderful day.

“But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” Matthew 12v36-37
