March 9 – Psalm 15 – On backbiting
“LORD, who shall abide in Thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in Thy holy hill?” Psalm 15v1
“He that backbiteth not with his tongue,…” Psalm 15v3 (King James Version)
Ouch, yeah, help. Something feels funny on my back and I really do not know what it is. Don’t be a backbiter. It is known to be said that the words of the mouth are powerful, don’t use your tongue to speak bad of others behind their backs.
“and has no slander on his tongue,…” Psalm 15v3 (New International Version)
“He who does not slander with his tongue,…” (Amplified Bible)
“Those who refuse to gossip…” (New Living Translation)
Some synonyms for backbiting, include - belittle; disparage; deprecate; slander; libel; defame.
One dictionary defines slander as words falsely spoken that damage the reputation of another; an abusive attack on a person’s character or good name
Hmmm. It is well.
Have a wonderful day.

Verses for thought:
“I SAID, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.” Psalm 39v1
