January 7 – Be of good cheer

In church today, a verse not oft spoken of although well known was referenced and it struck me all over again. It goes:

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16v33

A few things from this one verse. We see that it is only in our Lord Jesus Christ, would we have peace. We see too that it in the world which we live in we would have tribulation. But then we see too the conclusion of the whole matter be of good cheer. Because why? Jesus has overcome the world. Brothers and sisters, be of good cheer and have a very cheerfull week.

“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.” 2 Timothy 2v20&21
