April 3 – GOD our DELIVERER … and so

“He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, Thou liftest me up above those that rise against me: Thou hast delivered me from the violent man.” Psalm 18v48

It is not very befitting for us Christians to fight- though it may be tempting at times. So then, how do we overcome. One song sang by Hillsong Australia (I believe) has a line that says “this is how we overcome.” And how is that – through praise. Remember the mighty shout which brought down the wall of Jericho – no fight. Remember Paul and Silas and the prison walls and the earthquake and the loosing of chains – no fight. Remember Jesus feeding of the thousands – no fight, just giving of thanks. Isn’t that wonderful. And why?

Because those we fight against are not flesh and blood, they are principalities, they are powers, they are rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness in heavenly places. And so, our armour becomes – the shield of faith, the breastplate of righteousness, the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, the belt of truth, feet shod in preparation for the gospel of peace, and the greater One on the inside of us –JESUS.

Because if God so be our deliverer, and so…

“Therefore will I give thanks unto Thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and sing praises unto Thy name.” Psalm 18v49

Have a very lovely day.

Verses for thought:
“So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.” Romans 9v16

“As He saith also in Osee, I will call them My people, which were not My people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.” Romans 9v25
