January 13 - He knows these things
Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well. So sometimes we get into the habit of worrying about things and praying the same prayer over and over again. It may be with some particular things for instance money, clothes, shoes, relationships, exams. But let’s imagine a scenario where you have a friend and you ask: can you do this (so, so, so and so for me), and the person says, yes of course. 10 minutes later, you ask your friend the same question, and then 1 hour later, and then 1 hour 30 minutes later… hmmm. It could be annoying. We see in Matthew 6v7&8 with regards to prayer, where the word of God says:
“But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask Him.” Matthew 6 v 7&8 (King James Version).
“And when you pray, do not heap up phrases (multiply words, repeating the same ones over and over) as the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard for much speaking. [1 Kings 18 v 25 – 29. (Amplified Bible)

Verses for thought:
“And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made.
And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.” 1 Kings 18 v 26&27
