April 15 – … who was called barren
Sitting down and flipping through the Bible thinking of a word of encouragement is for today. What encouragement. Stumbled upon these which were underlined from the book of Luke:
“For with God nothing shall be impossible.
And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to Thy word. And the angel departed from her.” Luke 1v37&38
The first verse is oft quoted – for with God nothing shall be impossible. But then we see in the second verse, verse 38, how Mary’s dependence on God’s impossibility, was based on His word. God will not give us to do anything that is unachievable. For we know according to what Paul spoke to the Philippians:
“Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4v11-13
Have a glorious day.
