April 9 – On Faith

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this morning? Arise shine for your light is come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.

Sometimes we say, I wish I had more faith for this issue or that issue, or to do this particular thing. I remember listening to a message about it not being about our own faith or in other words, confidence in our own abilities, but having faith in God. But how can we have even this mustard seed faith that our Lord Jesus spoke of. We see in Romans 10v17:

“Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.” (New International Version).

Here we see that although faith comes from hearing the message, its not just any message, it is the message through the word of Christ. What have you been hearing of late? Has it been in accordance with the word of Christ?

“So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself).” (Amplified Bible).

Here, we realize that who is doing the talking also matters. Who have you been “hearing” from. Is it Jesus the Word of God, our Messiah. Remember that Paul cautioned

“As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ” Galatians 1v9 &10

Be cautious that you are not speaking anything out of line with the word of God for it is the Lord God whom you serve and are answerable to.

‘So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.” Romans 10v17
