April 16 – His delight, His deliverance

“All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

He trusted on the LORD that He would deliver him: let Him deliver him, seeing He delighted in him.” Psalm 22v8

But we see the Psalmists testimony in Psalm 18v19:

“He brought me forth also into a large place; He delivered me, because He delighted in me.”

The question then arises that how do we win the Lord’s delight? For we see here that when the Lord delights in someone, He delivers them. We see a glimpse into this, where Jesus said,

“And He that sent Me is with Me: the Father hath not left Me alone; for I do always those things that please Him.” John 8v29

Is God’s pleasure always ultimate on your mind? Do you always seek to please Him? He is faithful. He will never fail us nor forsake us, so our conversations need never to be with covetousness and we need never fear what man can do unto us.

Verses for thought:
“Delight thyself also in the LORD; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” Psalm 37v5

“Thou hast also given me the shield of Thy salvation: and Thy right hand hath holden me up, and Thy gentleness hath made me great.” Psalm 18v35

Praise the Lord. Hallelujah.
