January 22 – From the Psalms

Psalm 84 v 12 says:
“O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in Thee.”

The LORD our God is with us, He is mighty to save. The Lord is a good God, and blessed is the man who trusts in Him. Yesterday, I was asked a series of questions about God and why bad things happen to good people. Although I did not know the answer the verse about fearing God who is able to harm both the body and the soul, compared to man, who can only hurt your body came to mind.

“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10v28

“And I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear Him, which after He hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear Him.

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?

But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.” Luke 12 v 5-7

That is, we are of more value than that which is not forgotten by God.

Have a glorious day.
