January 19 – God in the little things

The smile from a face, a stranger on the road, a phone call, a word of encouragement, a helping hand, a gift, a smile – God in the small things.

“Delight thyself also in the LORD; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” Psalm 37 v 4

God knows what you need at every moment of every second of every day. His word says of His people that:

“And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.” Isaiah 65v24

So sometimes whether it’s a helping hand, directions, a telephone, a smile, a phone call that we need or desire, God looks out for His own. He neither slumbers nor sleeps, yet He gives His beloved sleep. He is the best friend we could ever long for and in His presence there is fullness of joy, at His right hand, there are pleasures evermore. And finally, remember that:

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the LORD.

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55v8&9
