January 27 – Two things: stand and open

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well. I am fine, here on my bed in Madrid and listening to the song “free indeed” by a Nigerian artist – Folake Umosen. And we are free indeed, for whosoever the Son sets free, is free indeed.

Two things and two verses that come to mind.

“And He opened His mouth, and taught them, saying,” Matthew 5v2

“…, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore…” Ephesians 6v13&14

In the first, it is interesting that the Bible specified that Jesus opened His mouth, and the mental note I took was that Jesus carried out an action of the body, He moved His body to accomplish a purpose that had spiritual ramifications, teaching others. And in the second, there is a tautology, where stand is repeated. And now it brings to mind where Jesus spoke to His disciples telling them that:

“And He cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with Me one hour?

Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26v40&41
