January 25 – THE ENEMY

Once in a while, we come across people with whom we are not so friendly with, or for some reason you are not liked in their sight. Or vice versa. The Bible is quite clear about what we should do in situations like that – smile, oh sorry, love. And also rejoice at these times of hardship, of persecution, for remember that Your Father lays a table for you in the presence of your enemies, and that if God is for you, who can be against you? And no weapon formed against you will prosper. However, we also see in Proverbs 25 verses 21&22 that:

“If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:
For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee.” Proverbs 25v21&22

Take heed though that you are not happy at their downfall, but instead you see to their needs, and may God grant us the grace to recognize and meet those needs in Jesus name, amen. And no matter how you are appreciated or unappreciated, remember that God is your rewarder; He is your glory and the lifter up of your head.

Have a glorious day.

Verses for thought:
“Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.” Psalm 3v1

“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;” Matthew 5:44
