April 17 – For his good 2 edification

“Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.

For even Christ pleased not Himself: but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on Me.” Romans 15v2&3

Now the problem we often have (as I read in a book just now), is that we try to put our own likes on the other person – after all, if I like this song, the person should like it, or this food, the other person should e.t.c. But we forget that when we are pleasing our neighbour, we are looking out for their own good, and it is no longer about us – not at all. And that is love, as we see exemplified in Jesus. Father forgive them, for they know not what they are doing.

Have a fun day pleasing your neighbour for his good to edification.
