April 19 – The unprofitable servant

Hello everyone,
How are you doing on this day? I hope well. I am good. I remember discussing with someone yesterday about how scary it is to be replaced in the kingdom of God. We thank God for His grace though and for Jesus’ example of “not My will but Yours be done.” On the other hand, we see Elijah who was replaced by Elisha; Saul by David. However, we also see that Daniel wasn’t replaced, neither was Joseph, or Esther (although she could have been had she not realized that perhaps “I was placed in this place for such a time as this.”) What is God calling you to do? Paul said to Timothy:

“Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.” 2 Timothy 1v6

“That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [with those of the elders at your ordination].” 2 Timothy 1v6 (Amplified Bible)

We see here how Paul was cautioning Timothy not to let the gift of God that was in Timothy lie dormant, go to sleep or be unprofitable, like that of the unprofitable servant who buried his talent under the soil. What gifts have you? You could ask God to show to you the ones that you do not even know about, and to create avenues for you to stir them up for use in the furtherance of His kingdom.

Have a blessed day.

“To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away.

Now throw this useless servant into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth” Matthew 25v29&30 (New Living Translation)
