April 26 – A prayer
Hello everyone,
I saw this prayer that Paul prayed for the church in Rome and thought it was quite powerful. He prayed that:
“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” Romans 15v13
So you have a promise, but you are not joyful, and you are not at peace in believing it. Perhaps because circumstances say otherwise. Here, Paul prays that our God, even the God of hope, will fill you with all joy and peace in believing, in order that ye may abound in hope, not through your own abilities, but through the power of the Holy Ghost.
“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15v13 (New Living Translation).
For we know that:
“Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.” Proverbs 13v2
But when the God of hope fills you with peace and joy in believing, because we trust in Him, then we can boldly and confidently and joyfully and peacefully say and respond to whatever comes our way that:
“Why are you cast down, O my inner self? And why should you moan over me and be disquieted within me? Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall yet praise Him, Who is the help of my countenance, and my God.” Psalm 42v11 (Amplified Bible)
Have a beautiful day.
