April 28 – On the head

In the head, we have the mouth, the nose, the ears, the teeth… I remember once, a preacher preaching about the helmet of salvation that we have thus covering all these parts of the head – the ears, the eyes and sometimes even the mouth. We see in Psalm 140 v7, where the Psalmist writes:

“O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, Thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.”

For us who know that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness in high places, the covering of the head in battle is very important as it regulates the things we hear, the things we see, the things we smell, think, and in essence do… Thus we see as one of the armour parts that:


“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:” Ephesians 6v13&17
