January 28 – Overcomers

Today, I met someone who told me that the things she experienced here, that is, the problems that she encountered here in Madrid, were more psychological, although it sounded more like sicología (in Spanish). But seriously speaking, it reminds one that the fight that we fight here is a fight of faith. It is not often the blow that we receive from the passerby, or the falls we experience, but more often than not, it is the thought processes. But we thank God because He has overcome the world! Now, on opening our mouths (yesterday’s devotional, and even on being open towards others … and strangers – don’t be scared to do it, the Lord is with you, and some have even entertained angels unknowingly), let no one steal your joy, or your song, although, they will try. For we know that:

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:” 2 Corinthians 10v3 (King James Version)

“For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons.” 2 Corinthians 10v3 (Amplified Bible)

“We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do.” 2 Corinthians 10v3 (New Living Translation)

A song by Hillsong Australia, which has the line “this is how we overcome,” also comes to mind (see lyrics below). I always get the impression that it is through our singing and dancing (smile).

Have a wonderful day.

Verses for praise:
“How are the mighty fallen, and the weapons of war perished!” 2 Samuel 1v27

“These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for He is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with Him are called, and chosen, and faithful.” Revelations 17v14

Song: This is how we overcome
“Your light broke through my nightRestored exceeding joyYour grace fell like the rainAnd made this desert liveChorus:You have turned my mourning into dancingYou have turned my sorrow into joyYour hand lifted me upI stand on higher groundYour praise rose in my heartAnd made this valley sing(Chorus)This is how we overcomeThis is how we overcome(Chorus)”
