January 30 – Charity never faileth
According to 1 Corinthians 13 v 5, we see that love:
“It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.” (New International Version)
“It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].” (Amplified Bible).
He did it again, she did it again, he …. Haaa! Not again! Stop it! There are many times when we (in our own rights) have cause to be angry, or to push our own way (having fore-knowledge that it is right), or have cause to count 1, 2, 3, 4, …7 * 70 times, this person did this same thing to me. For that reason, I have cause to be rude, touchy, fretful… but love is not. Instead:
“Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not, charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
Charity never faileth: …” 1 Corinthians 13 v 4, 6 & 8
