April 29 – For what purpose?

“Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”

Whatsoever – word, thought, deed … any action word – dance, eat, drink … should all be done as unto the Lord, in the fear of the Lord. For what purpose do we do the things that we do? We see here how even servants are cautioned to serve their masters, not with eyeservice, as menpleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing God, for ultimately, the one who we serve is the Lord Christ.

“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.” Colossians 3v17

The New Living Translation says that in whatever we do or say, we should do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus. Remember we should seek to delight ourselves in the Lord, in our Master, in our Saviour for ultimately He it is who will grant us the desires of your heart, He it is that will reward you, for it is not he who approves himself that is approved, but he who the Lord approves. How can you win His approval today and every single moment of your life?

Have a blessed day.
